Revisit an earlier week and the reflections shared alongside it.
← Back to this week's Open PracticeThis week's Open Practice is one of my favorites to date. The focus is on feeling good, which for me meant staying close to the mat, rolling, wiggling and playing with lots of rest at the beginning and end of movement. As always, make this practice yours! Shift it, breathe into what feels good, and skip what's not serving you. Open Practice is a weekly practice dedicated to building deep listening skills and personal body autonomy. Like all content on Tidal Work, you are encouraged to make this practice your own. Unlike other content, Open Practice is taught with extra time to attune to whatever is going on in your body and with lots of options for changing the volume.

This week's Open Practice is a direct response to the experience of poor air quality on the east coast. We are invited to stay close to the floor but play with different shapes that evoke joy and freedom in the body, opening up the hip flexors, adductors, and many other teeny tiny sticky spots in the pelvis. Many of these shapes look fancier than they are, so remember that you always have so many options in your own experience! Lots of volume knobs are called out, but feel free to take anything completely different. The most important thing is to make space for your own body experience. This week's Open Practice was an exploration of finding your power even when you feel like crap. This was a spicier practice with standing flows that integrated sturdy legs and really delightful upper body rotation and twisting. As always, lots of options and full permission to make this entirely your own Open Practice! Open Practice is a weekly practice dedicated to building deep listening skills and personal body autonomy. This week's Open Practice is extra restorative and sloooow. A really nice one if you've had a tough week (like me!) and need some real check-in time. I practice variations of supported hip openers, restorative child's pose, get a little spicy with some butt kicks towards the end. and As always, make it your own however you see fit! This week's Open Practice stayed mellow, close to the ground, and focused on releasing some spikey feelings in the low back and hips. We integrate a lot of thoracic spine movement and close with some supported belly down breath work. As always, lots of options and full permission to make this entirely your own Open Practice!
